Warragul Bulky Goods Development VIC

A shopping precinct home to 9 department stores in Warragul

Overview

The shopping precinct on the corner of Hazel Drive and Queen Street in Warragul is a huge benefit for the City of Warragul, being home to 9 new stores including Kmart, Bunnings and PetStock. With these large stores providing products and services to the public, a primary catchment population of 37,000, and an average of 21,000 vehicles passing per day, the centre is a buzzing hub of activity.

Challenge

The client came to us for their Roof Access Safety System so that there could be safe access for providing maintenance to the:

  • Air conditioning units
  • Roof gutters
  • Solar systems
  • Industrial fans

With Correct Safety's involvement, the maintenance of the 9 department stores was made a safe and easy task for roof workers.

Solution

We were thrilled to work with our construction client to install a safety system that would suit their needs and be compliant with the Australian compliance standards.

To provide a solution to the client's challenge, Correct Safety installed:

  • A compliant access walkway system allowing access right across the roof
  • Anchor points which allow access to the roof gutters, enabling them to be cleaned and maintained effectively
  • A powder-coated angled cage ladder for safe access to the walkway system and AC units, fans, gutters and solar systems on the roof
  • Signboards placed effectively around the roof area to keep roof workers aware of their surroundings

The work done by Correct Safety to the Warragul Bulky Goods Development followed the AS 1657:2018 and AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 standards and Codes of Practice, making the facility safe for roof workers.
